This Day in History
Objective
Reconstruction Era Foldable: Scalawags and Carpetbaggers
Ch. 16 Worksheet
Reconstruction Era Word Search
Resources to Understand Lesson

Hi Class,

Sorry I am out today. Please get the packet on my desk from the sub. In it is your activity for the day: one sided foldable with the terms Carpetbaggers and Scalawags. Neatly color, cut and paste into your History notebook. Write definitions and details of each in your notebook behind each flap. All supplies should be in the tote on your group tables.

After that, take time to work on the worksheet from Ch. 16 using your notes and ebook on your iPad.

Lastly, if you have something else to do, you allowed to have a silent study hall. If not, quietly work on the word search on the back. Keep the packets for when I see you tomorrow.

Please be on your best behavior with the substitute. FaceTime me if you want at the last 5 minutes of class- choose one person to do this. I will answer if I am available. (shazeen.rashid@nlcinc.com). You may listen to music if you brought your headphones. No games, random apps, etc. EVER! Sub has final say on whether iPads can be used depending on your behavior.

Shiva switch with Simin, Mo switch with Naomi, Turner sit near Sage and Shaheen switch with Catherine. Be good! See you tomorrow :)
Love, Mrs. Rashid

SPEECH CLASS: 8th graders in Speech, please make sure you let the sub and classmates know you are simply creating a poster with a message (about anything, a joke, a poem, etc. at least 3 sentences, at most 5 sentences) of random letters from magazines.

It's a fun project and tedious. On the back of the poster, write the message with a pen or pencil so I may see what your final product will look like. Posters and magazines on the back table, scissors and glue in the totes. Clean up at 3:15 pm SHARP. Dismissed at 3:25 pm.

Remember, 8th grade, you are role models for your classmates and other grade levels. Be kind to each other and get this done.

Tonight's homework
Please finish last night's homework and today's classwork (only the foldable and worksheet - not the word search)

I will check everything tomorrow!
